We were established with one goal in mind… TO BRING SOUTH AMERICA TO YOU!
Los Del Sur was formed in 1985, with 4 original members:
Alfredo Espinosa, Gaston Bejarano, Julio Medrano, Antonio Sarroca.
The group was created to perform the Folkloric music from the South American Andes, seeking to reach the market that enjoys and knows this music. The band started performing at restaurants as well as private parties, and shortly after developed a great audience. By July 1996 they recorded their first CD
album name” The magic of South American Music”, and soon after they performed at the Houston
Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Natural Science, Houston International festival, Continental Airlines, Universities of: Houston, Rice, ST Thomas, Houston Polo club, and countless of prestigious locations that propelled Sur with prestige and popularity.
By 1997 member Antonio Sarroca had to leave the group, and was replaced by Fernando Ledesma. That’s when the group changed its name Los del Sur. to “SUR” The group continued its success appearing at public TV station PBS, Il news, 13 eyewitness news with Debora Duncan Talk show celebrating the Hispanic heritage along with actor ” James E. Olmos ” The opening of an Astros game at the Minute Maid Baseball Stadium, and an event performance at former Secretary of State James Baker’s home.
In 1998 one more member of the band, Gaston Bejarano left and departed overseas (Norway) he was replaced by Ricardo Rojas. Short after, on May 1998, SUR recorded its second CD named “Spirit.” Gaston
came back from Norway to help accomplish this nice piece of recording music. The group continued giving concerts at Jones Hall, ST Thomas University, the Alley Theater, etc.
2002 was the year of the third SUR CD named “Energy Light and Sound” on which Sur combines music from North America and Brazil
By the year 2002 Ricardo Rojas Left the group to be replaced By Gonzalo Quisbert from Bolivia and the group started playing for local Houston famous restaurants such as La Strada, Mi Luna,…etc…Year 2004 came a new member Alfredo Leon to add versatility with his violin to the group.

SouthAmerican Productions’ goal is to bring the South American culture to the North. We bring culture arts, music form Southern countries such as: Argentina, Peru, and some Central America… it’s like taking you to a journey in your back yard.
